This is the number 3 golf course in South Africa, and it was a priveledge to play it. To be able to play it you have to stay at a Lodge or be invited by a member. Greenfee R4000,00! After checking in at the gate with car registration etc, we drove down to the impressive club house. There the caddy master was waiting for us with our buggies. We dived into the golf shop for the necessary unnecessary items, ie logo ball, hat, some souvenirs all Leopard Creek related items at European prices! The course was in perfect condition as the Dunhill Masters was played only a week before. Greens were fast and difficult to read even although they looked simple. Relatively wide fairways, bunkers strategically places and pristine tee-boxed. A long course, over 6000 meters from the club tee box. I liked the back 9 more, it was more photogenic and interesting, certainly the holes along the Crocodile River. Hole 18, with the club house in view is a challenge, a par 5 with an island green. Just great, a perfect finish to a great day of golf.
