About Gary Player Country Club
The Gary Player Country Club Golf Course, designed by Gary Player, is an 18-hole par-72 walking course, with a 5km running trail along the course. Built in an extinct volcanic crater, this immaculate golfing paradise conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications and was recently named South Africa’s Best Golf Course in the World Golf Awards 2015. It is also home to the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge which plays host to some of the world’s golfing legends.
When construction of the Sun City Resort began in 1978, the decision was taken to build a golf course that would rival the best in the world. Today, in spite of stiff competition, the Gary Player Country Club is deservedly ranked as one of the most prestigious golf courses on the African continent.

When in the area of Sun City it is a must for all golfers to play at least one round on the Gary Player country club course when visiting south Africa. The course is home to an important tournament for the European tour, The Nedbank challenge. This year with a south African winner " Brendon Grace". It measures a 8000 yard par 72 but of course you can play other tee boxes …

This is a breath-taking golf Course and experience in the North West of South Africa and is the jewel in the crown of the famous Sun City leisure resort.
The course is well manicured, the greens are fast, true and in immaculate condition and the experience of playing here is awe-inspiring. The holes are varied, but give all golfers a chance particularly as the par threes…

Great challenge, course in best possible shape considering the heat. Greens are receptive and the bunkers are pure. Only draw back is the driving range that’s up at the Lost City course.
The layout favors someone that can draw the ball, more room than you’d think next to the fairways.
