Royal Durban Golf Club was first established in 1892 as the Durban Golf Club, after Mr John Watt (a local bank manager) approached the town council about creating a golf club in Durban and was granted permission to lay out a links design course on the grounds within Greyville Racecourse.

When in the neighborhood of a "Royal" club it is fine to notice when you arrive that all staff is very helpful to assists you with your queries. For the green-fee it should not be a problem 20 euro for 18 holes is a bargain. This club is proud of their 125 years history and maintaining a golf course.
