While traveling through the German state of Saksen it was noticed that there was a golfcourse without any review on Leading courses/ So we went to Gahlenz GC in the small town of Oederan. Arriving we noticed 5 cars on the parking lot. The reception gentleman was very friendly and helpful even mark our scorecard with additional strokes on all the holes. Also was explaining the way we have to walk on the course. The 1st 8 holes and hole 18 were on 1 side of the road the other 9 holes on the other side. Be careful with crossing the road as cars can drive up to 80km. The course is very hilly and the 1st 9 only nearly 2600m, while the 2nd 9 is more than 3000m. The course is very undulated and often you have blind shots not because of doglegs but hilly conditions. The 1st 9 is easier playable but for the 2nd 9 you need some additional balls as the rough is so thick that finding your ball is not possible. Maintenance need some improved especially the bunkers and the semi rough. Clubhouse has everything you need including changing rooms/showers. Also after the round the beer can be taken inside and outside. Practice facilities are also available and notice a pro giving lessons to players. Overall there is a plan to keep on improving the course.
