ZigaStajner review

General impression: I have played this golf course on multiple occasions, the general atmosphere is very friendly, the staff is friendly and accommodating which makes for a very homely feel. Clubhouse: The club house is fairly basic, it does have a pro shop with all the necessities and a bar/coffee shop with offers indoor and outdoor sitting, accommodating for smokers and non smokers, should they chose to enjoy the facilities indoor. it also offers a possibility for a quick snack. In case the golfer is in a mood for some finer dining, the golf club is located in immediate proximity of a excellent hotel that offers sleeping accommodation and a wide variety of dinning option, spa and other standard facilities included. All in all, it offers everything a golfer might need for a nice round. Practice Facilities: The practice facilities are fairly rudimental. The course does have a sufficiently long range, that is in kept in an acceptable condition for a pre-round warm up, but I would not really recommend it for any serious practice, mainly due to the fact that the grass on the hitting area is usually a bit higher and not dense enough. The chipping and putting area are also acceptable for a pre-roud worm up, but not really suitable for any kind of serious practice. Locker room: They are functional, usually kept clean and offer all the basics you would need to clean up after the round. Golf Course: I like the layout, as far as I am concerned, it does have a good mixture of longer and wider fairways that allow for some fun with the driver, as well as narrower fairways though forrest that demand some accuracy and can punish missed strokes. There are also a few fun par 3 holes that test the golfers skills, one of them, on the back nine, demands a fairly accurate shot on a green positioned in the middle of the lake and another one from an elevated position on a fairly small green. However, there are a few, that are quite short even when playing from the pro-tees. The course also has some water hazards that do make for some strategic decisions in terms of how to approach the green or water to risk a longer drive over the hazard. the course is quite flat and physically not demanding, making very suitable for golfers who like to walk the course. Tee boxes: They are in a fair condition, there is usually no visible humps or excessive wear, hoverer, the general quality of the grass could be better. Greens: The times I played, the greens were in a good condition, nothing exceptional, with some burned patches and some ball marks, but all in all, manageable and offered good putting conditions. In my opinion, they are not difficult, with minimal “hidden” slopes and traps.
