Leonard review of Beroun Golf Resort

Beroun Golf Resort is about nine years old and has a big clubhouse in bit of an eastern European style. From the terrace/balcony the course looks a bit open and boring but when you play it it's surprisingly varied. It was designed by the Canadian architect Les Furber who is also the architect of nearby Karlštejn and used to work with Robert Trent Jones. We played the front nine where the holes make nice use of the hilly countryside. Hole 7 is a cool not so long par 5 dogleg left in front of the clubhouse with a huge pond on the left where the big hitters can decide how long they really are. The green is a double green with hole 10, could be confusing from a distance but you need to aim at right white flag. In front of the green is a huge bunker that makes this hole quite special. The clubhouse on the inside is very nice with a separate section for members and guests. There are a lot of facilities (pool sauna etc) and a nice pro-shop. Less then 30 km’s from Prague airport this is a perfect place to start your Czech golf trip.
