Low quality golf club with a small but cozy clubhouse and a feel-good hilly parkland 18-hole course save for a few holes in the woods. It seems like a few people are trying to manage this golf club as good as they can with very little resources. Pro: -The hilly parkland holes are very pleasant. Not very difficult. Very playable. -On the parkland holes (1-10,17 & 18) the fairways are wide and most of the rough is cut short so you can easily find a sliced ball. -Nice views on the hills and valleys around. -Very cool logo. -A very peaceful course with the exception of a passing train every now and then. -There’s a sign with the layout of the hole on the tee boxes. -There are new bins on the tee boxes. Con: -A bit of an unusual entrance. As you turn into the lane leading up to the golf club, it feels more like you are driving up to a farm house instead of a golf club. -The driving range is strange. From approx. 50 to a 100 meters there’s a deep trench. Then the range takes on a steep upward slope to about 200 meters. It messes with your sense of distance. -I almost twisted my ankle walking up to the driving range. There’s no path. You just have to walk through very uneven grass (rough). -Recently they built some shabby concrete bays with some rickety matts on them. I hope this is a work in progress in a very early stage… -There is no ‘ball-machine’ on the range. Driving range balls are to be collected at the clubhouse. Which is about a par 4’s distance away from the range. -The practice green is not in a good shape, either. It was very slow and bumpy and the holes haven’t been moved in quite some time. -The maintenance is not very good. -The fairways are very hard and have more clover than grass. -Honestly, the greens were in pretty bad shape. No consistency in speed. Very bumpy. Bare spots. -The bunkers had grass growing in them and were not raked at all (looked more like wasteland). -The tee boxes were too hard to stick a tee in them. And many of them are not flat. -There are high voltages cables that cross some holes and they produce an unpleasant, sizzling sound. -Holes 11 through 16 just don’t fit into the rest of the golf course. They are located in the woods and have very (way too) narrow fairways. There is no semi rough at all. There’s simply no room for error. If you miss the fairway, your ball is lost for sure. There’s no joy to be found on these holes. If they want to make these holes playable and enjoyable, they are going to have to cut down some of those trees and trim loads of branches.
