Really liked my stay at the Morgado G & CC. The hotel rooms were really nice, the staff around the facility were great and the facilities around the club were really good. A grass tee driving range with two spacious practise greens, one with two bunkers to practise from. Can't really fault the facility at all. The Alamos is a nice course and from the conversations I had around the clubhouse a lot of people preferred the Alamos course to the Morgado course. I didn't see it that way though. I much preferred the Morgado as I thought it posed more of a challenge. The Alamos is demanding across the front nine holes but once on the back nine, irons off the tee left wedges to the green. Smart golf was rewarded however the temptation to smash drives and 3 woods onto par 4 greens was too hard to ignore. The Morgado is a different test where the holes are longer and thus (in my opinion) a more difficult course. Scores are out there to be hit and I would certainly come back here for another few rounds during the summer when you can achieve longer distance with firmer fairways.
