Located on the Mediterranean coast of south eastern Spain, in Andalusia, on a plateau overlooking the Almanzora Valley, with easy access from the international airports or Almería and Alicante. Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club has constructed Europe´s first ever Arizona style desert golf course.
Designed by Peter McEvoy, Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club is built to full USGA specifications and is well worth the visit.
Here the talk is of water courses, hardpan, armadillos, cactus and there is, of course about half the green planted area you will find on a regular course. Good course to play when the wind is down, otherwise it’s extremely difficult. But, it is a patch of green in a barren landscape! Some holes are tricky, due to the wind! Without the wind I expect that a good score can be made because it is great lay-out. A return visit is a must!

Wow, what a Course!
Not the cheapest but definitely worth it.
We played for € 150.00 with a buggy (which is absolutely not necessary), on a Friday afternoon at 12.00 pm. We were pretty much the only one.
Beautiful fairways, great bunkers, fantastic greens, what more could you want. Yes, of course, a beautiful area.
In short if you are in the area worth a visit.

Der Golfplatz ist eingebettet in eine karge Landschaft und ein sogenannter Desert Course. Leider ist der Platz schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, genau wie die vielen Immobilien die Rund um den Platz zu erwerben sind. Played here twice this week and this has to be one of the better courses in Spain.
Very punishing if you miss the (almost perfect) fairways, but if you play your tee shot well and you have some decent distance some good scores can be had here.
Best greens I’ve seen in a very long while, fast and true. (Averaging 1.67 putts here as opposed to 1.89 at Marina Golf Mojacar)…
