The heathland course of Gleneagles, also described as an "inland links classic", stretches to 6,710 yards and requires really precise iron play as the greens are heavily protected by bunkers, run-offs, heather and fescue. Being located in Scotland, you can be sure that the weather will also play its part with strong winds adding to the difficulty of the course which already possesses a slope rating index of 133.
There will be a star-studded line up for the final Major of the year on the Senior Tour. Padraig Harrington, Miguel Angel Jiminez, Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer, Tomas Bjorn, Colin Montgomerie, Paul Lawrie and Darren Clarke to name a few.
“If Heaven is as good as this, I sure hope they have some tee times left.” A quote about Gleneagles by Lee Trevino, one of only four players to twice win the U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
Gleneagles is one of the greatest names in the world of golf. With three of the top golf courses in Scotland and as recent hosts of The Ryder Cup in 2014 and Solheim Cup in 2019.

As with any James Braid designed course, he always put his name to a hole which he considered the best of the course.
Stretching to 462 yards off the ‘blue tees’. Your tee shot is from an elevated position but is best to keep the centre or right of the fairway to avoid the looming threat of the Auld Nick bunker which has a way of collecting a lot more tee shots than you might think. The green is positioned 16 feet below the level you tee off from and is surrounded by a number of bunkers - keep an eye out for Young Nick which guards the green front right. The green itself slopes from front to back and left to right and is very large but somewhat undulating. Take your two putts here and run.
Boasting three Championship courses, The King’s Course, The Queen’s Championship Golf Course and The PGA Centenary Course. These 54 holes are often described as ‘a golfers playground’. In addition, The Wee Course also offers a 9-hole par-3 course which is great for beginners.
Furthermore, the resort has a driving range, short game area and two putting greens to ensure you’re well prepared for the challenge that lies ahead.
