Las Brisas certainly is one of the better courses around Marbella. It is a parc course surrounded by real estate. No real 'natural' feel here but the quality and variety of the course design largely compensate for the artificial look. The first nine holes are long with well protected greens - water and/or bunkers: a great test especially when playing back tee (6100m). You better warm-up before a round: hole 1 requires a 240m+ drive if you want to deliver a precise lofted ball over the water onto a well protected green. Otherwise a lay-up approach will be required. Hole 2 is a 360 m uphill hole: long precise driving and approach shots required. Congrats if you play par. If you get through those starting holes with not too many bruises, you will probably score well. It is better to be invited on Las Brisas since the full green fee is too high. Facilities are excellent (club-house, turn, practice). Friendly staff. Unfortunately, caution for the valuables you carry in your bags: several warnings for thieves.
