So please be aware of the fact that your profile page, as well as any User Submissions, which inevitably will contain personal data, may be made publicly available on the Website.
Automatic Information: If you use the Website, certain data, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and operating system may be collected passively and stored on our server logs or those of our service providers. We also use (third party) cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form, and navigation data such as Uniform Resource Locators (URLs). We use them to collect data about the time and date of your visit and about the solutions and information that you searched for and viewed, or to ascertain which of the advertisements posted on the Website you clicked on. Please be referred to our Cookie Policy for a more detailed information on what kind of cookies we use and how we use them.
Do you share data with Google?
More specific, the Website uses Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site and Google DFP to display banner ads. Google Analytics uses cookies to generate information about your use of the Website (including your IP address). Google DFP uses cookies to improve advertising. Some common applications are to target advertising based on what’s relevant to a user, to improve reporting on campaign performance, and to avoid showing ads the user has already seen. Please be referred to the following websites (Google Analytics and Google DFP) for an explanation on how these programs work and to Google’s privacy statement to learn how Google processes your personal data in this regard.
Google is a member of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). Members of NAI adhere to industry standards and codes of conduct. NAI members allow you to opt out of the behavioural advertising. Visit Networkadvertising and Youronlinechoices to identify the NAI members that may have placed an advertising cookie file on your computer. To opt out of an NAI member's behavioural advertising program, simply check the box that corresponds to the company from which you wish to opt out. In order to control the collection of data for analytical purposes by Google Analytics, you may want to visit the following link: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Do you share data with Facebook?
With your permission, our website uses the Conversion Tracking Pixel service of Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) hereafter referred as “Facebook”. This tool allows us to follow the actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. This enables us to record the efficacy of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes. The collected data remains anonymous. This means that we cannot see the personal data of any individual user. However, the collected data is saved and processed by Facebook. Facebook is able to connect the data with your Facebook account and use the data for their own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Use Policy which can be read via: Facebook Data Policy. Facebook Conversion Tracking also allows Facebook and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside Facebook. In addition, a cookie will be saved onto your computer for these purposes. Please note: only users over 13 years of age may give their permission. If you are younger than this age, please consult your legal guardians. You can change your Facebook ad preferences any time; just surf to Facebook Ad preferences.
For what purposes do we collect your personal information?
Purposes of use: We use the information that you provide to us (via our Website) only for the following purposes: processing your order, responding to your requests and your product or service inquiries, for our own direct marketing purposes, improving our Website and communicating with you. Credit card information is used only for payment processing and fraud prevention. Credit card information and other sensitive personal information is not used for any other purpose by Leading Courses and will not be kept longer than necessary for providing the services, unless you ask us to retain your credit card information for future purchases.
Direct marketing: Each Leading Courses account holder has the choice of receiving announcements and promotions from us via email. You will receive promotional email messages from us only if you have agreed to receive them. If you no longer wish to receive promotional email messages from us, you can change your personal settings via the control panel of your account accordingly. Additionally, each time you receive an email message from Leading Courses, you will be given the opportunity to no longer receive email communication from Leading Courses and to unsubscribe from our mailing list. If you choose to unsubscribe, we will stop sending you email messages. Please note, however, that some email promotions are prepared well in advance. We appreciate your patience in giving us time to carry out your request. You may unsubscribe by selecting the link, “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any Leading Courses email message or change your privacy settings accordingly by using the control panel of your account.
What choices do I have about accessing and updating my personal information?
You have a right to access your personal information. If you are a Leading Courses account holder, you may exercise this right by visiting the “My account” section of our Website. From this link, you can view, update or delete certain of your personal information from our database. If you wish to edit personal data but are unable to do so by visiting the “My account” section of our Website, please use our contact form. If you are not a Leading Courses account holder, but wish to contact us about accessing any personal information retained by us you can mail your requests via our contact form. At your request you will receive (at no cost) within seven days a mailing which states whether or not we still process your personal data, for which purposes your data is being used, the third-parties with whom we share your personal data with and for what period it will be used.
I did not register on Leadingcourses.com, so why do I have an account?
Other websites may integrate Leading Courses widgets (such as our 'rating widget' or 'write review widget'). When you visit a site with a Leading Courses widget embedded, we may receive certain information, like review content and information about the web page you visited. If you do not have a Leading Courses account, but still wish to share your opinion via a widget, an account will be created. In that case you will be asked to provide an e-mail address, password and handicap. We know when you interact with a widget, and websites containing the widgets may receive this information.
Do I have a right to object to certain types of processing of data and do I have a right of revocation?
Right to object: You have the right to object if the processing of your personal data takes place on the ground that this processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of Leading Courses or a third party. You can mail your objections on the basis of this ground in connection with your particular personal circumstances to Leading Courses’ company address (stated below). Leading Courses will judge within four weeks after receipt of the objection is well founded. If such is the case, Leading Courses will end the processing immediately. In exchange for the handling of the objection, Leading Courses will charge a 5 euro fee. If the objection appears to be well founded, Leading Courses will return the fee.
Right of revocation: You may at any time direct Leading Courses to delete your personal data or to refrain from using it for contacting you. You may at any time delete the user profile you have created and activated during online registration. Please use our contact form for this purpose. If so desired, your User Submissions will be made anonymous. Data which are absolutely essential for processing an outstanding order, will not be affected by any deletions you make.
Bear in mind however that our personalised service relies on the personal data you provide. If you revoke your permission for the use of your personal data, then we will no longer be able to provide this personalised service to you.
For what period will your personal data be stored?
We will store your personal data for the purposes mentioned in this privacy statement and in a form that will allow others to identify the data subject, no longer then necessary and, if applicable, ultimately for two years after a specific transaction has been dealt with. Your account data may be stored and processed as long as you have a valid account with Leading Courses. We are only allowed to store personal data beyond this period if storage of personal data is needed to adhere to a legal (storage-) obligation.
How does Leading Courses protect my personal data?
We attach great importance to protecting your personal data. To help us guard against unauthorised use of them, we use various security techniques and procedures that meet industrial standards. Although we have taken considerable measures to protect your personal data, there is not a single company, including us, that is able to eliminate all the risks to which your personal data may be subject.
What about minors?
The new GDPR legislation indicates that we can only store personal data when aged 16 and over, or aged 13 and older with consent of your parents or legal guardians. The legislation also prohibits us to ask for personal data (like your age) if we do not use that data actively. As this is not the case, we will not require you to share such data with us. This means that if you subscribe to The Website you pledge that you are indeed aged 16 and over.
How may I contact Leading Courses about my personal information?
We value your opinions. If you have any questions, comments or concerns concerning this Privacy Statement or about our handling of personal information relating to you, please contact us by:
- using our online contact form
- writing a letter to Leading Courses BV, attn: Customer Support, Europalaan 400, 3526 KS Utrecht, the Netherlands
