Golf in Paris
Paris is a major railway, highway and air-transport hub served by two international airports: Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. Due to traffic congestion the Paris Métro - open since 1900 - is used a lot and transports more than 5 million daily passengers. There are 32 golf clubs located within close proximity of Paris making it ideal for a golf break. The Paris region was put on the map as a real golf destination ever since the Ryder Cup was held just south of Paris at Le Golf National in 2018. Well-known Paris golf courses are Golf De Saint Cloud (you can actually see the Eiffel Tower while playing here), Le Golf National and Golf de la Boulie - Racing Club de France. Just slightly on the outskirts of Paris you will find some of the best golf courses in France like Golf De Fontainebleau, Golf De Morfontaine and Golf de Chantilly. If you want to wind down from your round of golf, then Paris is especially known for its museums and architectural landmarks. If you fancy a museum, then check out the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Pompidou Centre Musée, National d'Art Moderne, the Musée Rodin or the Musée Picasso. The historical district along the Seine in the city centre is classified as a UNESCO Heritage Site. Popular landmarks in the city centre of Paris include the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs-Élysées, and the Basilica of the Sacré-Coeur on the hill of Montmartre. It doesn't really matter when you visit Paris for your golf trip, although winters aren't ideal and many courses will close when there is snow. If you visit Paris in August, then it is good to know that Paris (and France) will down in August. Most locals leave for vacation in August, so many restaurants and small businesses stay closed for weeks in a row. The best golf courses near Paris are located in the north and just west of Paris. Near Versailles you will find Golf de la Boulie, Le Golf National (Ryder Cup venue) and Golf De Saint Cloud. So that would also be a nice area to look for a hotel. The best Paris golf clubs are Golf De Saint Cloud, Golf De Saint Germain, Golf De L'Isle Adam and Le Golf National. All these golf courses are located within a radius of 30km of the city center of Paris.
