A golfing trip to the Emerald Isle will not only convince you of Ireland’s golf pedigree, it will also challenge any perceptions you had about the quality of the great game in Ireland.

A scenic 9 hole course along the shores of Upper Lough McNean. It's a long par 5 away from MacNean House and Restaurant which is the acclaimed restaurant run by Neven Maguire. Although only 9 holes, multiple tees make the front and back 9 play different. A lot of work over the winter and some investment in equipment has really improved the quality. With a low green fee, t…

Play this course each time my husband and I are visiting family in Co Waterford (on average 8 times per year) It's worth a visit just for the warm welcome from Austin, the owner and Gillian the club secretary, Can't wait for this dreadful corona virus to be over for the sake of the whole world, but it also means we will be over to West Waterford ASAP.

The Clubhouse is a big open plan, However the views from the main building over the lake are fantastic The winter bar is a real cosy spot the caterer Pieter was fantastic, the food excellent the portions generous and the cost was really good. The Practice /Warm up facilities are bit lacking. This is the best value for money in Europe for both golf food and friendliness.…

Fresh from its makeover in early 2020 by renowned architect Ebert The Island has stepped up a notch from its well placed ranking # 8 in Ireland with a nice mix of holes on the front rather than the old format viz., eight par fours in a row. The opening hole is set in beautiful high dunes so this sets the scene for the astute player’s strategy over the entire course. The …
