Golf in Málaga

The reasons why many golfers flock to Málaga is because of its international airport Málaga Airport, officially known as Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport. It's the fourth busiest airport in Spain and an important airport for Spanish tourism as it is the main international airport serving the Costa del Sol. Many golfers use Málaga as hub to get to the Costa del Sol, just south of Málaga. Málaga is the largest city on the Costa del Sol, it has a typical Mediterranean climate and is known as the birthplace of famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Make sure to visit the Alcazaba, a Moorish castle built in the 11th century on a hill in the middle of the city. This old fort is the best-preserved of its kind in Spain. Málaga also has a relatively warm winter as the city is protected by the Malaga Mountains leading to average winter temperatures of around 13°C (55°F). Staying at one of the golf courses in Málaga is possible at Alhaurín Golf Resort and Parador de Málaga Golf. The best Málaga golf courses are Golf Torrequebrada, Lauro Golf and Mijas Golf. All the mentioned golf courses are located within a radius of 29 km of Málaga.
