The Aa Saint Omer Golf Club has two golf courses: Val (18 holes) and Haute Drève (9 holes). In addition to the two golf courses of Aa Saint Omer, the golf club has several training centres: a practice with covered posts, approach greens, a putting green as well as an academy with 2 pros, a golf school for children and a handigolf school

De baan Le Val is een moeilijke en uitdagende baan. De baan heeft veel variatie die het glooiend landschap van Saint Omer volgt. Het is een combinatie van lange Par 5's die prima te spelen zijn en dan komt een complexe green die je meteen een pak punten kan kosten. Par 3's met lengte of Par 3's met een groot hoogteverschil. De tweede keer dat ik deze baan gespeeld heb, maar dit maal met een aanvaardbare handicap :)
De baan is zeer uitdagend om verschillende redenen:
1. veel greens liggen wat hoger en laag inkomen betekent weg rollen.
2. De greens "pakken" maar zijn ook snel
3. er zijn verschillende holes met blindshots
4. Het hoogte verschil op een aantal holes

Het is op zich een mooie baan maar door achterstallig onderhoud en de tijd van het jaar is het een beetje middelmatig, ondanks het prachtige weer en het landschap. De vergezichten zijn heel mooi en het heuvelachtige biedt genoeg uitdaging vooral de tweede negen. Ik persoonlijk zou een buggy willen adviseren al is het lopend ook te doen maar is wel pittig.
