Three nine hole loops – designed by Terry Murray -‘The Grouse’, ‘The Atlantic’ and ‘The Guadiana’ – comprise this attractive Golf & Country Club resort in the eastern Algarve, providing golfers with the enviable choice of playing either of two,18-hole combinations.
All three nine’s share the same, basic characteristics, dictated by the terrain they occupy, epitomizing the often-quoted description: “following the contours of the land”.
Castro Marim occupies an elevated position, with magnificent views to the north, towards the ridge of hills which separates the Algarve from the province of the Alentejo. To the east, the mighty Guadiana forms the border with neighboring Spain, while the shimmering Atlantic may be seen to the south. Opened in 2001.

The Grouse is the newest of the three nine holes with the more open far-reaching inland hill views. Although it only opened in 2008 it is already nicely mature. It has rolling terrain with fewer trees than the other two courses.

Wij hadden op 10-03-2018 last van het grote aantal greenfee spelers moesten vaak lang wachten bij elke hole, hebben hier 3 keer gespeeld, er zijn momenteel drie lussen.

Mooie baan heel breed en met mooie vergezichten baan is veel moeilijker te spelen als dat hij oogt vaak speel je van verhoogde afslagplaats met prachtig uitzicht de ronde afsluiten in het clubhuis is zeer gezellig en bitterballen staan op het menu waarschijnlijk door de vorige eigenaar een nederlander op de kaart gezet.

Geweldige ervaring om te spelen op deze baan. Een behoorlijke carry is soms noodzaak. De hoogteverschillen, de uitzichten, de prachtige natuur, gewoon geweldig. Deze baan mag je niet missen als je daar in de buurt bent. De bitterballen zijn 1€ per stuk maar goed te eten met een lekker biertje erbij.
