Royal Mougins Golf Club

Magnifiques installations pour ce golf très technique. Trous sont variés avec de belles difficultés. Parcours vallonné Le club house est de qualité. Seul défaut la proximité des rails et de la route.

The first time I played Royal Mougins it was in a 4 hour downpour although I could see it was a nice course you can't really appreciate it when the cups are filled to the rim with water. So this time with 22° blue skies and a lovely Côte d'Azur sun I had better luck.

The service at the caddie master was amazing and the course was very calm. I was playing by myself and hardly seeing any other players. The first par 4 gives you a great view but the 2nd hole par 3 is the hole that most people remember. A par 3 with elevated tees where the highest is probably more than 25 meter higher than the green. A real challenge and difficult to choose a club. But there are several tees to choose from so pick the right one!

After this high point there are lots of nice holes meandering through the neighbourhood where nice villas are sometimes pretty close to the course. When needed there are signs and it sometimes adds to the excitement. The routing is pretty straightforward all though I did play hole 17 twice. It's directly behind hole 4 and hole 5 is also a par three. Anyway no problem it was not that busy. The holes at Mougins are very varied and you can see the architect, Robert von Hagge, really followed the land he had to work with. This way all holes are original and challenging to play. It's really a course you like to play a couple of times.

The maintenance on the course was excellent nice greens good fairways and tee-boxes.

If you go there take some extra time because both google maps as 3 different car navigation systems I used to get there bring you at the other end of the property. So if you don't want to miss your tee-time leave on time and enjoy a nice coffee before playing. The restaurant is great by the way.

Parcours très varié qui permet de jouer tous les types de coups.

Accueil correct et en ligne avec l'environnement un peu trop froid et élégant à mon goût. L'entretien du parcours était parfait et à la hauteur du montant du green fee.

Je n'ai pas ressenti d'atmosphère particulière mais la météo n'aidait pas ce jour là!

A noter que l'environnement immobilier est assez discret.

Les installations sont très bonnes et le practice pas trop loin du départ.

L'un des golfs les plus agréables sur lequel j'ai joué en France. L'accueil est fantastique.
