Three nine hole loops – designed by Terry Murray -‘The Grouse’, ‘The Atlantic’ and ‘The Guadiana’ – comprise this attractive Golf & Country Club resort in the eastern Algarve, providing golfers with the enviable choice of playing either of two,18-hole combinations. All three nine’s share the same, basic characteristics, dictated by the terrain they occupy, epitomizing the often-quoted description: “following the contours of the land”. Castro Marim occupies an elevated position, with magnificent views to the north, towards the ridge of hills which separates the Algarve from the province of the Alentejo. To the east, the mighty Guadiana forms the border with neighboring Spain, while the shimmering Atlantic may be seen to the south. Opened in 2001.

27 hoyos. Campo ubicado en una finca de monte bajo. Mucha vegetación autóctona. Campo entretenido, campo o monte.
Grouse. 9 hoyos nuevos más abiertos.
Guadiana. Es la parte intermedia variada
Atlantico. Recorrido más corto. + fácil.
Mantenimiento correcto.
Una buena opción para un día de golf.
mooie baan die geheel in het landschap past. Niet makkelijk want er stond veel wind. Waardoor ik nogal wat ballen verloor in het water. Onbekendheid met de baan zorgde voor verrassingen. De 2de negen ging het beter en had ik wat meer overzicht. De green en fairways waren prima. Al met al genoten van de golf. Ook in het clubhuis was goed toeven en op het terras genoten we van het zonnetje en de wijn.

3x 9 holes golfbaan; de grouse lus en de guadiana lus zijn de 2 mooiste lussen. Op de Atlantico lus liggen de holes erg dicht op elkaar en was het ook erg druk met andere golfers. Daar de lengtes van de holes redelijk kort zijn was het vaak wachten op elkaar. Leuke baan voor golfers met minder lengte in de slag. De driving range kan qua uitstraling een opknapbeurt gebruiken. De greens zijn prima, netjes en snel. Fairways en teeboxen hebben aandacht nodig; beetje rommelig.

Guadiana-Atlântico Course
18 LöcherDesigned by Bristol-based Terry Murray around ten years ago, The Guadiana and Atlantico courses are the most mature of the three courses, with attractive pine trees lining the fairways. The courses are teeming with wildlife, especially partridge in the winter months. Fast and true greens, several of them elevated and protected by bunkers, inviting elevated tees and dogleg fairways carved out of canyons are features of the courses.

Grouse-Guadiana Course
18 LöcherThe Grouse is the newest of the three nine holes with the more open far-reaching inland hill views. Although it only opened in 2008 it is already nicely mature. It has rolling terrain with fewer trees than the other two courses. The courses are teeming with wildlife including wild boar, birds and rabbits. Some lucky property owners have even spotted the elusive Iberian Lynx on The Grouse Course when playing early in the morning. The Guadiana Course is a delight, set amongst attractive pine trees. Fast and true greens, several of them elevated and protected by bunkers, inviting elevated tees and dogleg fairways carved out of canyons are features of the course.
