Three nine hole loops – designed by Terry Murray -‘The Grouse’, ‘The Atlantic’ and ‘The Guadiana’ – comprise this attractive Golf & Country Club resort in the eastern Algarve, providing golfers with the enviable choice of playing either of two,18-hole combinations.
All three nine’s share the same, basic characteristics, dictated by the terrain they occupy, epitomizing the often-quoted description: “following the contours of the land”.
Castro Marim occupies an elevated position, with magnificent views to the north, towards the ridge of hills which separates the Algarve from the province of the Alentejo. To the east, the mighty Guadiana forms the border with neighboring Spain, while the shimmering Atlantic may be seen to the south. Opened in 2001.

The Grouse is the newest of the three nine holes with the more open far-reaching inland hill views. Although it only opened in 2008 it is already nicely mature. It has rolling terrain with fewer trees than the other two courses.

Beau parcours golfique.
Situé au somment des collines qui surplombent le Guadiana, le club de Castro Marim est installé dans une bâtisse au style néo-maure impersonnel et sans charme. Grand parking. Le proshop ne propose pas beaucoup d’articles à la vente. L’accueil est souriant et professionnel.
Les installations de practice sont correctes sans plus.

De baan is top! Mooie vergezichten, uitstekende kwaliteit baan en greens. Interessant geaccidenteerd.
Ronduit teleurstellende oefenfaciliteiten, belachelijk dure dr balletjes, slechte matten, ed. Clubhuis flink dik aangezet, maar niet echt sfeervol.
