Über Swanston Golf Club
Swanston Golf Club was founded in 1927 as a Ladies-only course but due to demand from the Lady members’ partners it was soon opened up to men and extended to 18 holes in 1928. The course generally did not change until 2006 when work began on seven new holes which opened for play in March 2009. The current clubhouse was opened in 2007 In April 2016 we further improved the layout of our 18 hole course by incorporating two of the best holes from the old Lothianburn Golf Course. Swanston also has the 9 Hole Par 3 Templar Course, a Driving Range and fantastic practice chipping and putting areas. Also in April 2016 we entered into a joint venture with Footgolf Scotland, Footgolf is the fastest growing sport in the world – played here on Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays between 11am and 5pm on

Mooi gelegen golfbaan aan de rand van Edinburgh. Ik speelde op een zonnige dag waardoor een prachtig uitzicht de omgeving. Parkachtige baan. De eerste 12 holes liggen in de noord/schaduwzijde van een berg of heuvel. Goed te lopen. Ik kreeg spontaan een trolley mee. Ik werd ook nog mooi vroeger ingedeeld. Mijn geboekte starttijd was anders te laat om alles voor donker te lopen. Kortom prima gastvrijheid! De laatste holes 13-18 zijn lager gelegen en relatief eenvoudig. Ik heb genoten en kan deze baan zeker aanbevelen.

Prachtige uitdagende baan met schitterend uitzicht op Edinburgh. Vandaag met heel veel wind gespeeld wat het een stuk lastiger maakt om te putten op de toch al snelle greens. Vanwege de wind 5 pond korting gehad op de greenfee en daardoor maar ca 22 euro betaald voor 18 holes. Aanrader!

Sehr gepflegter Platz, an die Hanglage der Fairways muss man sich gewöhnen. Die Grüns sind wellig und schnell. Man hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Stadt und die Bucht, von einzelnen Punkten des Platzes.
Ein schöner gepflegter Platz, der durch seitlich abfallende Fairways seine Besonderheit erhält. Die Grüns sind wellig und schnell. Das Personal freundlich.

Schitterende baan. Echte aanrader. Wij hadden mooi weer met niet zoveel wind maar als het waait wordt de baan uitdagender. Veel schuine hellingen maar goed te belopen. Uitzicht is geweldig.
