Durban Country Club - Beachwood Course

Greens are very fluffy and slow, course is dry otherwise course layout is great and is very nice to play at, gives a good golfer a bit of a challenge.

Spannender Platz, man merkt das er von Gary Player toll geplant ist. Die Grüns waren gut, der Rest vom Platz leider sehr vertrocknet. Glubhaus mit den sanitären Einrichtungen gehört mal renoviert.

The Durban country club- Beachwood is the little brother of the real Durban country club. But therefore not less interesting. The Beachwood course is a real links and many fairways are designed in the same wind direction. Add to this the approx. 80 bunkers and the wind from the Indian Ocean you really can enjoy the links course, because there will always be wind. Maintenance of greens and fairways are good and is no excuse. As usual by links courses you get nice roll and distance if hitting well. Be aware their is a small airport very close to the course for small/private planes which can disturb you if sensitive for noise. Hole 6 is pretty difficult and also watch the out of bounds poles.

But if you enjoy links courses and a nice beer afterwards this is the place to be.

I enjoyed the course layout, it was nice and challenging.

Teetimereservierung per Mail keine Antwort; doch mit Unterstützung des Hotels wunderbar. Wir gingen zu Fuss weil kein Buggy frei, doch mit Caddyunterstützung kein Problem. Drivingrabge klein, viele Übungsputtinggreens. Die Fairways sind trocken, doch sehr gepflegt. Die Teeboxen für Damen etwas wellig. Grüns eher langsam. Interessante teilweise für Männer enge Löcher.

Der danebenliegende Flughafen bietet tolle Möglichkeiten für Flugzeugaufnahmen. Hat uns nicht gestört. Caddies geben gute Tipps. Clubhouse und Facility sind in die Jahre gekommen. Doch es war alles da, was Frau braucht.
