Stanmore Golf Club

Must be among the cheapest Alister MacKenzie courses in the world, providing very good value for money, though the standard of fairways and teeboxes aren't amazing (ok though!). Greens were very nice, but a bit slow unfortunately, due to quite heavy rain the day before I played. Hole 7, a 352 yard par 4 with a very elevated tee box, is definitely drivable if you can bomb the power fade. The hole is quite stunning, and clearly the signature hole. Hole 18 is also very nice, a short'ish par 5 that's easily reachable in two, with a surprisingly big green. As I was in a rush, I didn't have time to test the clubhouse much, but overall Stanmore Golf Club is an absolute delight that I would be very happy having as my home course if I lived in the area.
