With an idyllic situation in the heart of the Scottish Borders The Woll Golf course offers a testing and very enjoyable round. The par 70 parkland course follows the gentle contours of the Ale valley and is surrounded by mature trees. The Woll burn comes into play on a number of holes in this area of outstanding natural beauty Situated just off the A7 between Selkirk and Hawick, the course is very accessible and Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle are all just over an hour away by car. Presently the course provides changing facilities, toilets and hot and cold drinks, with catering available at the Smiddy Bar nearby in the village. The facilities have just been upgraded - a new Clubhouse with restaurant, bar, shop and changing facilities are now open. All Visitors and groups are welcome 7 days a week, including corporate groups. Day packages are available including Golf and fishing, Golf and Clay pigeon shooting and of course catering. The course itself benefits from its position on the natural valley bottom where the sub soil is sand and gravel ensuring the course drains very well and is playable all year round. It is kept to the highest standard to make your game enjoyable. We also consider the environment in the running of the course and are lucky to attract exciting and varied wildlife including, deer, hares, buzzards and herons in the burn. On the estate overlooking the golf course there are five luxury self catering properties all designed for comfort and luxury with en-suite facilities and some with saunas.
