Recently, I had he pleasure of spending some time in the East of Mallorca. To explore that part of the island, play some of the golf courses in the area and enjoy the Carrossa Hotel & Spa. None of the above disappointed.

Carrossa Hotel & Spa

The 5-star Carrossa Hotel & Spa is not like any of the other stay & play hotels. For a ‘traditional’ stay & play package most golfers would normally stay in a hotel on the golf course. Which makes sense of course. The Carrossa Hotel & Spa is not located on a golf course. Great golf courses are not far away though. The hotel breathes relaxation, luxury, gastronomy excellence and the highest service.

The very stylish Spa is the largest I have ever seen in a hotel and offers all kinds of treatments, different kinds of massages, two panorama-pools, a modern gym, and much more. Head chef Kim Toro prepares the best dishes in the restaurant, which I am sure you will enjoy. The level of personal attention is amazing. The general manager, Mario Wolgast, will make sure your stay will be one to remember.

The Carrossa Hotel & Spa is an ideal place to stay for couples who are both golfers, but also for groups of golfers & non-golfers. While some may go off to play one of the courses around, others will be able to relax and enjoy themselves in the Spa or maybe visit the local market in Artà.

There are 4 courses near the Carrossa Hotel & Spa. They form part of the Golf East Mallorca golf destination. I had the pleasure to play Alcanada Golf & Pula Golf Resort. The other courses are Son Servera and Capdepera.

Golf Alcanada

Golf Alcanada is considered one of the top golf courses in Mallorca. Located near Alcudia, it offers stunning views of Alcudia Bay and the lighthouse on the island of Alcanada. Designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr, Club de Golf Alcanada’s stunning 18-hole course opened in 2003 and has since reached even greater heights with an extensive upgrade in 2019. Situated in the northern part of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, Alcanada is located right by the sea and the 6,499-metre layout blends naturally into the typical Majorcan landscape.

Pula Golf Resort

Near the town of Son Servera, is Pula Golf, a complex which combines golf, cuisine and a hotel. Everything in a pleasant, exceptional and exclusive setting which is at the same time very personal and unique. Pula Golf Club is very demanding. All of the holes are different. Designed by José María Olazábal, the course is characterized by its scenic landscape, rolling fairways, and challenging design. Two lakes and a river affect several holes. In the surrounding area, visitors can admire the archaeological remains of the Talaiotic era within Pula Golf Resort, which have been well preserved.

Capdepera Golf

Capdepera Golf was designed by US golf architect Dan Maples. It comprises a mix of easier holes in the valley where an old almond plantation used to be and more challenging holes that go up into the beautiful hills of the Mallorquin Llevant mountains. (Photo: Capdepera Golf)

Capdepera Golf is situated between the villages of Artá and Capdepera. It is a beautiful golf course with six lakes and lies hidden in a spectacular valley surrounded by mountains. Capdepera Golf course has a very balanced design, with some long and wide fairways and some which resemble narrow corridors and require more accuracy on the shots. It is known for its tranquil setting and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Mediterranean Sea. It provides an enjoyable golfing experience for players of all levels.

Golf Son Servera

Club de Golf Son Servera is the second oldest club on the island of Mallorca. It was designed by John Harris and opened in 1967. It is an 18-hole course that lies below a range of pine-clad mountains with glorious views over the bay of Cala Millor. It has a traditional layout with narrow fairways, well-placed bunkers, and beautiful Mediterranean vegetation. Both experienced and rookie players will enjoy their round playing the challenging Club de Golf Son Servera course. After the game, the clubhouse restaurant offers a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy great local gastronomy with views of the 18th hole and the Mediterranean.

Most people who visit Mallorca will know Palma and the western part of the island. Nothing against that, it is a beautiful part of Mallorca. But the east of Mallorca is definitely worth a visit as well if you have not yet been there. Both for the golf courses in this area and for a next-level stay & play at the Carrossa Hotel & Spa.
