Owing to the continuous improvements on and around the course, in combination with the highest quality standards, the FONTANA is to become one of the top 10 golf courses in Europe. The club house accommodates a restaurant, a pro shop, as well as a private fitness and spa area, which is complemented in the summer by the club’s own bathing lake with sand beach. The demanding, yet fair course with its many bunkers and water hazards is one of Austria’s top golf grounds. Daily changing pin positions always make for new challenges on our greens.

Not much is good about this course. It’s rating is based on a previous generation and is currently undergoing a major renovation while charging full time prices. The new holes have not grown in properly and all of the exciting holes are being torn up. Bei einer offiziellen Green Feen von € 140 p.P. erwarte ich einen Starter und einen Marshall. Beides war nicht vorhanden, sodass wir hinter einem Flight von Asiaten spielten, die maximal Platzreife hatten und einen ca. 8 jährigen Jungen dabei hatten, der kaum einen Ball traf, so dass das Ganze für uns (und die nachfolgenden Flights) über 5 Stunden Frust war. Auf Grund der Umbauten entstand ein neuer Platz. Das Layout ist nun etwas enger, trotz Kompromiss auf den back 9 spielt sich die Runde gut. Ich finde er ist leichter geworden. Fontana ist nach wie vor ein spitzen Platz.

We played the course 5 years ago and loved it. We played it on 6/7/19 with 2 other couples, and it was an utter disappointment. Forget your Garmin watch! Amerikanischer Countryclub Style vor den Toren Wiens. Leicht hügeliger, recht offener Platz mit interessantem Design. Weltklasse Clubhaus und Driving Range. Service war schwach - hier fehlt im Vergleich zum amerikanischen Vorbild das Personal. Platzzustand fantastisch.

Österreichs Paradegolfclub präsentiert sich momentan umbaubedingt bei einigen Löchern etwas chaotisch, aber das ändert nichts an der tollen Platzpflege, dem grandiosen, für manche wohl etwas zu amerikanischen Rundherum und am sehr guten Design der Gesamtanlage! Ein Platz, den man gerne spielt, der nicht allzu schwierig ist und den man insgesamt durchaus empfehlen kann!

When I was playing it was the beginning of the season and there were stil some marks of the ventilation. I can imagine it can be even better. If you are in the area, you must play this course. Clubhouse is incredible.

Facilities are excellent with a great driving range on grass. First thing to notice on the course is the high maintenance level. It's excellent. Rarely I have ever seen such beatiful tee boxes where not a blade of grass seems in the wrong way.
