Royal Limburg Golf

Limburg Golf & Country Club was founded in 1966 by a group of golf aficionados, all based in Limburg, who were members of the golf club at Sart-Tilman. The municipal council of Houthalen made available a 65-hectare piece of land, which is partly situated in the Tenhaagdoornheide nature reserve and partly in pine forest. The founding members commissioned the British golf course architect, Fred Hawtree to design the new course and in April 1968 they were able to play their first 9 holes on their own course in Limburg.
