Jebel Sifah

Er is geen echt clubhuis.

Jebel Sifah is very nice 9-hole desert layout designed by Harradine Golf with a few very nice holes along the sea. After two nice par-4 holes comes monster par-5 3rd hole where I think most amateurs will have trouble reaching the green with 3 shots as it measures around 570 meters off amateur tees (white) and around 610 meters off the back tees. For me it was a very good drive, spot on driver off the deck and I was still left with 155m carry over the green bunker to 165m pin. As with most seaside courses the holes running along the coast are the prettiest and this course is no exception with very nice par-3 6th hole playing toward the ocean and lovely par-4 7th hole playing by the coast. It finishes with nice par-3 8th hole and great par-4 9th hole. The wind comes in play at this place so consider that too when playing here.

Course condition was very good with nice greens but the are still to hard so stopping the ball on the green was quite a challenge. No proper clubhouse on site (yet!) but the pro-shop is okay and the staff was very friendly. Food in the marina restaurant was also very good. The resort is located in the middle of nowhere, though, about 1 hour drive east of Muscat and it is a part of huge Orasco development so there is some construction going on on the site but it won't affect the game itself. Hopefully they will extend the layout to 18 holes in the near future and attract more avid golfers from all over the globe.

Very nice golf course to get away from the busy cities of the middle east with. Early days as has just opened though off to a nice start with the highlight being the staff who can not do enough for you. The right blend of very friendly, professional and relaxed.
