The Five Nations was designed by the legendary Gary Player in 1990. With his completely personal ideas of the game and the laying out of golf courses he laid out a hilly, challenging and above all a very nice par 72 golf course, which has been integrated completely in the surrounding nature. The fantastic situation at the foot of the hilly Ardennes offers a particular challenge for players of each level. The course is known for its spectacular holes and impressive views as far as 40 km. In the book “Top Golf Courses of the World” The Five Nations is mentioned together with 54 illustrious names like Pebble Beach, St. Andrews and Chantilly; an entry to be proud of.

Hele mooie golfbaan. Specifiek is de geaccidenteerde omgeving en zijn de mooie vergezichten. Een buggy is noodzaak wil je het 18 holes volhouden. Arrangement voor twee dagen golf en 3 overnachtingen direct bij de golfbaan is goed bevallen. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

2020 apporte son lot de changements, pas appréciés par tous mais rationnels et probablement efficaces à long terme

Toen wij de baan speelden was dat op wintergreens en waren slechts 9 holes bespeelbaar, zoals ook telefonisch aangekondigd. Wij hadden een arrangement met lunch en green-fee (voor 9 holes) aan 35Euro. Gegeven de lekkere lunch zeker een goede deal! Een buggy huren kost 20Euro.
Het weer was niet goed die dag, veel regen en veel wind. Maar we hebben wel kunnen zien dat de baan zeer mooi en uitdagend is. Prachtige natuur en zeer glooiende fairways. Door het weer waren we de enige flight op de baan. Achteraf beschouwd hadden we beter geen buggy gehuurd. Je moest namelijk op de paden blijven, waardoor je toch regelmatig flinke afstanden moest stappen naar je bal.
Clubhuis en pro-shop zijn nieuw, iedereen was uiterst vriendelijk en gastvrij.
We komen zeker in de zomer terug om alle 18 holes in betere omstandigheden te kunnen ontdekken.

Championship Course
18 hålWelcome to Méan, between Marche and Liège, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. This is one of the most spectacular courses in Belgium, designed by Gary Player himself. The South-African ex-pro clearly got inspired by the site. You have to admit that Player’s original layout is now a challenge of the highest order. Physically (use a buggy if you want to keep any strength to play golf !) and technically (some fairways are quite narrow indeed !). Once played, the scenic hole 13 (a small 118 m par 3 downhill where the green seems so small 26 meters down there !) will remain a memory forever ! All in all though, long, clean and straight hitters are favoured on this course. Those will undoubtedly love hole 6, a 516 m par 5 ! For the 19th hole
