Zwartkop Country Club

Een volgroeide golfbaan met uitdagende waterhindernissen. Op een zondag deze baan gespeeld, waar het clubleven duidelijk, en prettig, zichtbaar was. Wij liepen de baan met caddies, geen probleem want de baan heeft nauwelijks hoogteverschillen. De greens zoals gewoonlijk in Zuid-Afrika veel beter dan wij gewend zijn. Veel lange holes, die door de droge fairways toch goed te spelen zijn.

This 85 years old club golfcourse is located between Jo-burg and Pretoria. The par 71 parkland course has 4 tee-boxes and could be played 6400m if wanted. There sufficient practice facilities if wanted. Take some additional balls as the Henneps river is meandering through the course and at least on 9 holes in play(on the right, left or in front). Fortunately the course has not that many bunkers and some greens do not even has one bunker. Had a nice round by good weather conditions. Also after the round all facilities and service is available

to enjoy your drinks or food.

Baan door droogte vaak hard en moeilijk speelbaar op de fairways en bunkers, greens OK. Holes uitdagend door vele waterhindernissen, riviertje, vijvers en beekjes bepalen de layout. Prijs prestatie verhouding zeer goed (82 euro voor 2 greenfees / 2 rentalsets en e-cart). Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Voor Afrikaanse baan minder luxe maar niet minder mooi.

I often play my golf at Zwartkop, challenging enough for a novice golfer. I do think more attention should be given to the greens. Hopefully with the summer rains, the fairways will be at its best.

Golf plutôt facile, pas trop de difficultés, beau parcours avec beaucoup d'arbres... toujours un bonheur de jouer en Afrique du Sud, quelque soit le parcours...
