Prachtige 18 holes baan, mooie greens!

The Heidelberg golf estate was previously a Retirement Development estate and not open for non-villagers, but the last couple of years available for non-owner members. So visitors in the area and non-owner members are now most welcome. The course is not far from Strand and Stellenbosch so in a popular tourist area. The reception is fine and there are no driving range facilities but only a putting green.

The course is a par 70 course. There are different tee-box for the 2nd 9 also a par 35 with one par 5. Maintenance is fine and the greens are not easy and need attention to get your putting line right. So a nice place to play 9 holes and continue your golf holiday in south Africa. As usual the views on the mountains when playing is very nice and if too concentrate enjoy the views from the terrace when having your drinks.

Hat man die umfangreichen Sicherheitskontrollen durch die hochnäsigen Damen am Eingang des Estates überstanden, dann wird es gemütlicher. Sehr nette Dame im Sekretariat. Man fühlt sich als Gast willkommen. Ein 9-Loch Platz auf dem wenig Andrang herrscht, während man anderswo kaum eine Abschlagszeit bekommt. Mit 60 Lenzen zählt man zum Nachwuchs - hier kann man sein eigenes Alter endlich ins rechte Licht rücken. Die Fairways sind auf Grund der Trockenheit eine Katastrophe, dürften aber in regenreichen Zeiten auch nicht zu den besten gehören. Grüns sehr gut. Abwechslungsreiche einfache Bahnen ohne große Highlights die sich um die unvermeidlichen Resortbuden schlängeln. Greenfee für 9 Loch 210 ZAR, da kann man nicht meckern.

Fazit: Wenn man keine Lust hat, im 10 min. Takt in 4er Flights über den Platz geschoben zu werden, dann ist man hier gut aufgehoben.
