Fontana Golf Club

Not much is good about this course. It’s rating is based on a previous generation and is currently undergoing a major renovation while charging full time prices. The new holes have not grown in properly and all of the exciting holes are being torn up. The original owner has some outstanding courses in Canada, but this venture is a clear loser in its current state. Boring, unimaginative and expensive to boot. Consider playing it after the renovations are complete and only then after it has grown in for a couple years. Their explanation was that they’re trying to lobby for the Ryder cup. Total joke.

Bei einer offiziellen Green Feen von € 140 p.P. erwarte ich einen Starter und einen Marshall.

Beides war nicht vorhanden, sodass wir hinter einem Flight von Asiaten spielten, die maximal Platzreife hatten und einen ca. 8 jährigen Jungen dabei hatten, der kaum einen Ball traf, so dass das Ganze für uns (und die nachfolgenden Flights) über 5 Stunden Frust war. Inakzeptabel, dass ein Club der zu den "Besten" gehören möchte Spieler mit Platzreife akzeptiert, nur um Einnahmen zu generieren.

Auf Grund der Umbauten entstand ein neuer Platz. Das Layout ist nun etwas enger, trotz Kompromiss auf den back 9 spielt sich die Runde gut.

Ich finde er ist leichter geworden. Fontana ist nach wie vor ein spitzen Platz.

We played the course 5 years ago and loved it. We played it on 6/7/19 with 2 other couples, and it was an utter disappointment. Forget your Garmin watch!

The course is being renovated, and NONE of the holes match with the watch. We were not informed that the course is being renovated, not offered a birdy book or an updated map of the course. The indication on the course are very poor, and hot lost a couple of time. Indication like "next hole" are really useless. Is is do hard to have indications such as "hole 12 ---"

When confronted, the front desk person apologize because they had a major event with Porsche, but did not do any commercial offer, not even a drink at the bar.

I can not rate the restaurant, we had a reservation there, but canceled it.

Value for money is poor.

Amerikanischer Countryclub Style vor den Toren Wiens. Leicht hügeliger, recht offener Platz mit interessantem Design. Weltklasse Clubhaus und Driving Range. Service war schwach - hier fehlt im Vergleich zum amerikanischen Vorbild das Personal. Platzzustand fantastisch.
