Played here some time ago. I have been told it was a windy course but when i got the chance to go and play it i caught one of the windiest days to play there. It was in perfect conditions. Specially the greens
Sadly the wind was so strong could hardly stand up on some tee boxes and ball would just move on its own on the icy greens. Can still say after all that i could imagine what the course would play like on a calmer sunny day. It was a proper championship course with a great clubhouse and driving range.

Played the championship course on a nice day in late February. The Robert Trent Jones Sr lay-out is pretty spectacuar, and pretty much every shot requires careful planning and creates a technical as well as tactical challenge. In addition, the course is great fun to play - several holes have elevated tees, there are some long carries over water, a couple dog legs,... The course winds through the grounds of an old monastry and offers some wonderful views of the valley, the mountains, the ocean and the adjoining (noisy) racetrack.

De 9 holes North course gespeeld. Het is niet slecht en ze hebben mooie greens. Maar de fairways zijn toch wel een stuk minder dan de mooi ogende 18 holes baan. De baan is vrij kort, maar nu die kletsnat was speelde het wel iets langer.

Helaas stond er een straffe koude wind maar de zon scheen vol op en wat is die baan dan mooi, lekker om te spelen ook, heel rustig die dag. Wij hebben maar 9 holes gespeeld maar dat was geen probleem met een speciaal tarief! En vanwege mijn knieprobleem werd ik netjes naar de auto met de buggy terug gebracht, terwijl wij aan het lunchen waren (dat kan je in het clubhuis voortreffelijk!) werden de clubs nog netjes schoongemaakt, TOP!

Atlantic Championship
18 holesThe 18-hole Atlantic Championship, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, opened in 1992 and staged the Portuguese Open two years later. Every hole is different and exciting, with Jones using the contours to great effect. The course has a superb flow to it and the views throughout are magnificent, especially away to the coastal towns of Cascais and Estoril and to the blue Atlantic ocean.

holesThe Atlantic South course, designed from the same architect, It´s the perfect match between the last 9 holes of the Championship Course with the Old Monastery Course , creating different situations and challenges, you will feel that you are playing in a magical place, but it´s all the amazing place where this course belongs, Sintra . In this case you will find a lot of challenges and tricky shots, it will be a completely different experience.
