About Estela Golf Club
The Estela Golf course is a true links course, located in a magnificent area with a climate cooled by the Atlantic breeze in summer and warmed by the Golf stream in winter. Unlike the south of Portugal, where the summer can bring extremely high temperatures, at Estela the temperature rarely rises above 25ºC (80ºF). The type of grass used for the fairways is “Tifton Bermuda” and “Penncross Bent” was used for the greens. This all ensures excellent game conditions with good fairways and greens that are both firm and fast. From the back tees, the Estela course stretches over almost 6,300 meters (7,000 yards), with a par of 72. This is not a golf course for those who have difficulties with the driver!

Un vrai links en bord de mer. Points de vue, qualité des fairways, des greens, des bunkers... tout y est. Le parcours est difficile, assez longs et parfois étroit. Nous l’avons joué par 70/80 km/h de vent... terrible! C’est le parcours incontournable du Nord Portugal.

Good course. Links style. Beautiful views of ocean surf. Very windy, and that is a significant factor in playing the course effectively. Overall, as a visitor from Canada, it was memorable experience. I would return.

Een geweldig mooie, verzorgde en prachtig gelegen golfbaan. Wij arriveerden op oudejaarsdag rond 11:30 en kregen te horen dat de poort om 3 uur in de middag gesloten werd. De eerste 9 holes veel wachten. De laatste 9 holes ruim baan en we haalden het binnen de tijd. De weg naar de baan toe gaat via binnenweggetjes door een tuinbouwgebied waar nog gewerkt wordt zoals in Nederland 40 jaar geleden. De baan ligt er prachtig gemanicuurd bij. Alles tip top in orde. Het zicht op en het geluid van de kust en branding geven het ultieme links gevoel. Een baan om terug te keren.
