I got the opportunity to play this beauty! When I parked the car it was pouring down... It didn't change until after nine holes. Some greens had so much water on them we had to replace the ball to able to putt... Then the sun came out and dried the course up a bit. A lunch and then we played it again. By now the greens were completely dry and rolled fantastic! Alister Mackenzies first course design in the US. He is famous for his great greens(huge greens!) with rugged bunkers around them. If you ever get the chance to play this gem do it! It used to be a treeless course but now it's more of a parkland course, not very hilly with some impressive redwood trees around. The clubhouse is huge... and it has a round bar, The Mackenzie bar. Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff / members. Those green... I'll try to get back and play it again, definitely worth it.
