Acerca de West Kilbride Golf Club
West Kilbride Golf Club is one of Scotland's great links treasures but is less well known to the wider golfing world than it deserves to be. Here there are spectacular and memorable views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran and beyond to the Mull of Kintyre. It is a course that has twice benefited from the architectural hand of James Braid. The five-times Open Champion made alterations to the original Old Tom Morris nine-hole layout in 1914. He returned in 1923 after the Open Championship at Troon and left the club with further improvement plans which were completed two years later. Today this remains the layout so much enjoyed by members and visitors alike.

Un links écossais à un prix abordable, une belle découverte. Manque peut-être un peu de variété. magnifiques vues sur la mer et les îles. Fairways très secs, mais l'Ecosse vivait une période de canicule exceptionnelle.

We hadden de pech om de baan te spelen terwijl het 18 holes heeft geregend, wat uiteraard de beoordeling iets of wat beïnvloed. Wat vooral is bijgebleven van West Kilbride is de enorme gastvrijheid die we mochten ondervinden in het clubhuis. De baan is mooi gesitueerd langs de Schotse westkust, een typische linksbaan met niet al te spectaculaire holes. Een baan om een mooie score neer te zetten als het weer iets of wat beter is dan wat wij mochten meemaken.
Baanonderhoud was zeker, zoals op alle Schotse banen, prima in orde.

The West Kilbride Golf Club at Seamill is located on a stunning piece of the Ayrshire coast, with spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde to the beautiful island of Arran.
This delightful links, originally laid out by Old Tom Morris and later re-designed by James Braid, has somewhat of a split personality... and it all depends upon which tees you play from.
Played from the white ‘Ardneil’ tee markers at 6,146 yards it is a fun and entertaining course which gives you a good chance of playing to your handicap. However, move back to the blue ‘Arran’ blocks and you have a 6,523 yard championship standard test of golf. Indeed The Club host the Scottish Boys Championship every four years.
