Trevose Golf & Country Club

Set in and around the ruins of Chapel of St Constantine (dating back to C15) it provides an excellent test of golf for beginners and juniors, who are not quite sure of themselves, or the seasoned golfers wanting to brush up on their short game. Each hole provides its own unique challenge, and it’s the perfect place to try out new shots, fine tune your skills or alternatively put in to practice the lessons learnt from our teaching Professionals. This course has something for everyone, and if you’re embarking on your maiden golfing experience you will find it enormous fun. Like its two big brothers (The Championship Course and The Headland Course) the Short Course is always in excellent condition, with greens prepared to a consistently high standard.

Measuring a little over 3,000 yards the course gradually winds its way out to Trevose Head, opening up one of the most picturesque views you are ever likely to find on a golf course. As you approach the 5th green you will see nothing but ocean and the huge expanse of coastline that stretches for as far as the eye can see – on a clear day you can see all the way down to St.Ives! Less busy than the Championship Course, but with comparable course conditions the Headland Course will ensure all golfers of all abilities enjoy this course. In addition it is a handicap rated course, so those wishing to put cards in for handicap review can do so.

As you stand on the intimidating 1st tee, with all 18 holes laid out in front of you, the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean will take your breath away. The front 9 holes hug the sand dunes and coastline, offering some spectacular views out to sea. The back 9 holes offer a different, but no less demanding, test of golf as you head inland and then back towards the clubhouse. The difficulty lies in the wind. Those who are prepared to be more creative with their shot making will be well rewarded. The greens are often wide and the fairways generous, but trouble awaits any errant shots. The rough can be penal in places, and watch out for the carefully crafted bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the course.
