Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club

So who wouldn’t enjoy a game at an Open Championship course. On the day there was little wind so the only defences were the course and it’s myriad of bunkers.

The course was in great condition and the greens were manicured but not at Championship pace.

There’s a practice range with a chipping area with bunkers and a putting green that lets you think all putts are straight. The greens are subtle and make you look for borrows that aren’t there.

Food and clubhouse service was exceptional.

Det är inte för inte som Lytham & St Annes ofta nämns som en av de bästa The Open-banorna.

Den är lång och har ett stort antal bunkrar, här gäller det verkligen att tänka sig runt.

Bo på i de mysiga Dormy House och försök äta åtminstone en middag i klubbhuset (Obs! Glöm inte slips)!

Atmosfären är påtaglig och det känns precis som att det var i går Seve Ballesteros slog det där klassiska inspelet från parkeringen.

En riktigt häftig plats för den som gillar att nörda ner sig i golfhistoria.

Mooie greens en fairways. Ik speelde er 3 dagen na het British Open voor dames. Daardoor was het erg druk en moest er nog veel opgeruimd worden. De lunch in het clubhuis was goed. De hele club en clubhuis straalt historie uit. Vele grote namen heb hier gespeeld en historie geschreven. Ik begon met een mooie birdie op hole 2 en maakte mijn eerste eagle op hole 7. Dus voor mij een fantastische ronde als herinnering.

I've played here a few times, twice in the British Open. In 2009 and this year in August. Two completely different experiences. This course is very weather dependent. for most of the front nine you have out of bounds to your right (don't arrive with a slice), very challenging start with a long Par 3 followed by 2 difficult Par 4s. The back nine is quite scorable until you reach the last 2 holes. It's not my favourite links course in Lancashire, but definitely one you should play. Good luck!

By the way my favourite hole is the Par 3 ninth, I made a hole in one during the first round of the British Open!

royal lytham sede della famosa competizione per amateur, ospitalita nn cosi gentile come in quasi tutti questi campi i soci possono, gli ospiti vengono un po relegati. il campo essenzialmente un links tra ferrovia e case è un campo assai difficile dai back tee e facile dai tee normali ma se nn giocate una competizione solo tee normali. è un altro mondo molto piu giocabile ma se si vuole meno divertente.
