A brilliant golf course that everyone visiting St. Andrews should definitely play. It can be a demanding course to play, especially if the wind is high, although there's quite a lot of room on most holes. The sea is present basically at all times giving the course great views. The last hole is a bit disappointing compared to the rest of the course but a cold beer in the cosy clubhouse erases that feeling quickly.

I wanted to play this course ever since I first visited Scotland but somehow, I never managed to find the right tee time. After I finally got the chance to do so, I was thrilled and positively surprised at the experience. First of all everything on the property is very well maintained and constructed with practicality and purpose in mind. The practice facilities are great, lots of space and good turf conditions, the clubhouse is nicely maintained, it has a well-stocked Pro-Shop, the bar is nice etc…

The course itself was the biggest surprise to me, for some reason I was under the impression that this is an old course, however, I was educated on the fact that it actually only opened about 20 years back, that I could not have believed. When you play a lot of courses and when you (like me) like a particular style, you would usually know without being told if the course is older or newer, there are simply some shapes and form that form naturally over time on the terrain, the vegetation and the architecture, especially how the constructors of courses used space in order to design the holes was a lot different 100+ years back than today. I like the old courses and this one plays just like that. The only tell that it is a new course is the fact that there are 2 loops of 9, other than that, the flow of the terrain and how the course plays is just contra intuitive to the era it was built in, in short, magnificent!
