Bearwood Lakes Golf Club

Played Bearwood Lakes on a beautiful October day. Everything about this place oozes class. From its location in stunning woodland just outside Reading, to the facilities and the Golf course itself.

This was my second time playing here and it just gets better with each visit.

The course itself is cut out of the forest with a number of holes towards the back end around lakes. It’s immaculately kept, with excellent tees, fairways and greens. Bunkering is also great throughout the course.

It’s a very fair test in that you get what you deserve. Almost all shots you can see in front of you, which I like.

It’s an absolute joy to play and has something for all levels of Golf. Getting on is not easy, you either need to be a members guest be have reciprocal rights. But at 70 pounds it’s worth every penny.

Schitterend gelegen, prachtig onderhouden en geweldige architectuur. Ondanks vroeg op het seizoen, heel goed speelbaar (alles zomergreens). Uitdagende baan en greens die wat analyse vragen. De baan zelf vraagt precisie (ook al zijn de fairways vrij breed) en lengte. Rough, water en bunkers heel strategisch geplaatst. Marshal en de rest van het personeel reuze-vriendelijk.

Kortom, een topbaan.

Bearwood Lakes is an excellent parkland course that belies its age.

Although it was only created in 1996 you would be forgiven for thinking that it had been here for over a century.

The land was originally part of Windsor Great Park and the 18 holes traverse this spectacular and undulating forested terrain elegantly.

At Bearwood Lakes you will be greeted with perfectly manicured fairways and quick greens as you work your way around the course that starts well, gets better and then really comes into its own at the start of the back nine.

Besloten baan met weinig mogelijkheden voor greenfee.

Gelukkig al drie keer gespeeld.

Als je het clubhuis inloopt kijk je direct uit op hole 1 en 18 wat een uitzicht!

Mooi ontwerp, eerlijke baan, in een fantastische omgeving. Absoluut een van de mooiste banen waar ik ooit gespeeld heb. Alles klopt hier en het is er altijd rustig.

Ben je in de buurt van Reading, waag een poging hier te spelen

In de omgeving van Oxford zijn diverse goede golfbanen. Bearwood Lakes hoort daar zeker bij. Prima holes in een fraaie omgeving. Het geheel doet denken aan een exclusieve Amerikaanse private club, maar het ontwerp van de baan en de sfeer zijn traditioneel Engels. Een geslaagde combinatie.
