Over Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club
Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club is the consequence of that merger with both Clubs merging into the new entity on 1 September 2010. With the construction of the stop bank, the GWRC undertook to reinstate the golf holes affected. As part of the agreement, 12 of the 18 holes of the new layout were constructed together with a 6 hole short course. The intent of the short course was to provide access to golf to the disabled and provide a facility where golfers could play a quick game. The construction with paved paths reflects that intent. The new course is close to 6,000 metres in length and when completed will be 6,300 metres. It has been built to Championship standard and is to be maintained to that level. The development is ambitious and is looking ahead to golf in the future.

Der Platz war in einem guten Zustand. Im Vergleich zu anderen Plätzen in der Region sind sogar die Fairways schön grün. Die Grüns waren sehr schnell. Hinzu kam ein sehr starker Wind. Windig ist es in Wellington immer, aber das war schon extrem. Unter diesen Umständen fand ich die Grüns schon fast unfair. Hut ab vor dem, der hier sein Handicap spielt. Das Clubhaus ist erst 1 Jahr alt und hat mir gut gefallen. Es gibt sogar eine Driving Ränge. Der Platz ist umgeben von Straßen, Wohngebäuden und Industriegebiet. Das ist aber nicht störend, ausser an Bahn 10, da sind die Häuser nach meiner Meinung viel zu nah. Ein Slice bei diesem Wind geht unweigerlich auf die Hausdächer. Die Leute im Shop und im Restaurant waren alle super nett.
