Golf courses in Fife

Fife is sacred ground for many golfers. The Old Course at St Andrews Links is the course every self-respecting golfer wants to have played at least once, and rightly so. But those who think Fife is only about the Old Course are mistaken. St Andrews Links has six other courses, from the challenging New Course to the more accessible Strathtyrum and the Balgove Course for beginners. And outside St Andrews, Fife has dozens more courses that thoroughly hold their own. Leading Courses favourites include Kingsbarns Golf Links and Dumbarnie Links. Kingsbarns is a modern classic on the Fife coast, designed with views of the North Sea and holes that feel different every time depending on the wind. Dumbarnie Links opened in 2020 and has quickly established itself as one of the most popular new courses in Scotland. Fife is thirty minutes' drive from Edinburgh Airport, making it a natural choice for a golf trip from the Netherlands. A long weekend with three or four rounds is very achievable and gives an excellent taste of what Fife has to offer. The climate is Scottish: changeable, sometimes bracing but always authentic. Tee times on the Old Course are booked out well in advance, but availability on all Fife courses is easy to check via Leading Courses.
