Golf in Germany

Golf in Germany is known for being a bit traditional, but the standard of German golf courses is high. Golf courses in Germany are also known for their diversity. There are some very good links style courses in Germany, for example WINSTONgolf, but there are also very nice woodland, parkland and heathland courses. When visiting Germany for golf you can count on attractive prices for gastronomy and hotels. Add the good quality of the golf clubs and you can have an outstanding golf holiday in Germany. There are also some very good golf resorts in Germany like: Sport & Spa Resort A-ROSA Scharmützelsee, Hardenberg GolfResort, Schloss Ludersburg and Golf Resort Achental. Germany is no stranger to professional golf. It has produced Major Champions like Berhard Langer and Martin Kaymer and it has been host to many professional tournaments like the BMW International Open and the Porsche European Open on the European Tour and the Ladies German Open and the Solheim Cup on the Ladies European Tour. When looking for a specific golf region in Germany, there are basically two choices. There is North Rhine-Westphalia in the west, where 164 golf clubs are situated. In the south you have Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg that host 248 golf clubs together. When moving south to the Bavaria region, you enter the north-side of the European Alps which will lead to some stunning mountain views when playing golf in Germany. The experience of playing golf on some of the best German golf courses will even get better with the views of these impressive mountains. Germany has a moderate sea climate with relatively mild winters, no extremely hot summers and rainfall throughout the year. Because of the various mountains and hilly areas you can still find quite some variation in weather in Germany, especially in the Thuringian Forest, the Bavarian Forest, the Black Forest, Sauerland and the Bavarian Alps.
