Eerder eentonig parcours, wel brede fairways, te moeilijke fairwaybunkers. Te droog, kaal parcours en minder goede greens. Slechte aanduiding van volgorde van de holes. Ongezellig clubhuis. Het mooie weer maakte veel goed.

Prachtige golfbaan met brede fairways. Super snelle en moeilijke greens.

Golf de Mogador is a hidden secret on the Morocco coast nearby the city of Essaouira. Actually there are 2 courses in this resort of Sofitel Essaouira. The 18 hole course “North Course” and the (at the moment) The 13 hole “South Course”. In this review I will only talk about the North course. First the all, you be welcomed by the friendly staff in the clubhouse with pro shop. The facilities are great, the big chipping green, a nice putting green and a big driving range with free practice balls. To be honest, the balls could use a cleanup or may be replaced. Anyway, the north course, this course has very wide fairways on most holes. Even the rough on the side is kept short so even in the “rough” it easily to find your ball. The fairways are in good condition. Even as this area has had the last months and years a lot less rain than normal. Most greens are protected by bunkers which are raked every morning by the green keepers. The greens itself are difficult to read and are pretty fast. So be prepared for a 3 put! I saw some patchwork of new pieces on the first 4 greens. As sometimes their website is offline, look on my pictures for the scorecard with all details about the course. I played this course already several times and I must say I truly love this course for very different reasons :

- ideal spot for training during the winter months with a very good hotel on the spot.

- very quiet, in the harmony with nature, sounds of the ocean breaking waves, on some holes you can see the Atlantic Ocean.

- Very nice combination of holes beautiful integrated in this landscape, it, s a Gary Player signature course.

- In winter months always in good condition

- Unlimited golf arrangement possible.

- Very likely every sunny skies, wind can sometimes come up in the afternoon.

Top Platz. Leider durch Düngerpflege die ganze Runde unangenehm gerochen.
