Don’t get your clubs washed! 4 out of four woods damaged :-(
Apart from that a friendly golf club with a nice restaurant and a very decent golf course. Challenging but still playable.

The montgomerie course is very close to the runway of the airport in Marrakesh which makes it very easy for travel but the airplanes fly very low over the course. We had ‘the pleasure’ to play the course in the pouring rain which makes it a bit harder to review. The driving range is okay but not top notch. The clubhouse is a really big building with a burger restaurant and a small pro shop. The course itself is surrounded by flats, some are still in development. The fairways and greens were in perfect condition. The staff was very friendly. Caddie is not obliged.
Despite the heavy rain (probably a day in a year ;)) we had a great day!

The course is very well designed with a significant amount of large challenging bunkers. Bunkers are filled with hard sand. The environment around the course is pretty basic, dry dessicated plants, some rubish laying around. The fairways wind around a concrete huilt housing estate. Big downsize is the amount of planes coming over. The course lays in the extensions of the airstrip and planes coke frequent and very low.

The Montgomerie course is one of the few courses located in the city of Marrakech this is a huge advantage if you are staying in town. The course is built on 5 pieces of land connected by tunnels and surrounded by houses. Sometimes the houses are pretty close to the course but you have to be really offline to hit them.
The course was designed with the input of Ryder Cup player Colin Montgomery with Gary Johnson of European Golf Design and really targeted on the resort golfer. The fairways are pretty wide and from the clubhouse it might not look super spectacular it's very nice to play. We played the first nine ànd the holes are pretty long and there are plenty of bunkers to increase the difficulty. The greens were of good quality and sometimes tricky to read.
The staff is very friendly and they have decent rental clubs if you didn't bring your own set.
