En dan heb ik de baan nog geen eens gelopen. Man man man wat is het toch een verademing om in Duitsland te golfen. A de meeste banen zijn ruimschoots top en b die vriendelijkheid hier zeg...

En voor zo’n mooie baan is de greenfee meer dan schappelijk. Was eigenlijk onderweg naar Hubelrath, ook zo’n parel maar zag onderweg deze en dacht ach... laten we eens kijken. Oké oké het ligt ook aan mij omdat ik makkelijk contact schijn te maken maar allemaal erg lieve mensen hier. Ga nu lunchen hier en daarna de baan in. Het is stralend mooi weer dus dat speelt ook mee, zo eerlijk ben ik dan ook weer. E.

Today I played with friends for the first time on this course. I didn't have my A-swing, far from that but scrambled for 36 stableford points (the game we played to have some speed). As a Dutch guy I am not used to a course over rolling hills.

The course maintenance is very good. The greens didn't look very dense in grass, but they were pretty quick and very true. I found them difficult to read. Not because they are tricked up, but sometimes the vistas show you that the greens are flat and when you putt there is definitely a break in them. Also some subtle and nuanced breaks.

The fairways grass is dense, but a bit longer than preferred. That makes me hit 25% less distance. Combined with the elevation changes this makes good club selection a weapon. I changed clubs two times and I hit the mark today, but it could have been the other way.

The fairways are wide ad welcoming and they allow for the the less than perfect hit. The first cut is also good to play out off, accepting the less control in spin. If you really miss it you will lose your ball as I did it two times.

I think the best hole is 13. A short par 4 downhill with a sharp dogleg left. Ace a 4-iron and then you will be left with an 8-iron with the ball below your feet to a complex green.
