About Castlebar Golf Club
Castlebar Golf Club was founded in 1910 and the course was designed and built in its current layout by Peter McEvoy and his team. It opened in 2001. The Course has been built to USGA specifications, measuring 6,420 yards, Par 71, with sand based greens and many water features. With deep bunkers and even deeper water features, a multitude of trees that seem to multiply daily and rough that really lets you know its there, the course requires careful placement of shots if a score is to be compiled. All 18 greens provide a beautiful surface for putting, and though they are undulating the well struck putt will stay true to its line. All in all the course provides a tough but fair challenge to all golfers.

Gastvrij, meteen gevoel geven dat je welkom bent. Behulpzaam met regelen. Interesse vooraf en na ronde golf heel prettig.
Baan leuk al was die nu nog onder constructie, volgend jaar verbeteringen gerealiseerd waardoor de baan nog interessanter wordt.

Great course. Played it because others in the area were closed due to heavy rain. Fairways were bone dry the rough was good for the most part. Greens were running slow but to be expected. It's a course I will be back to play in summer.

Over a 100 years old golf course with a 5877 m par 71 parkland course. With a new /renovated clubhouse this club is readty for the 21 th century. The course was in good conditions with many bunkers and water hazards. It is not an easy course to play and straight shots are required to minimise your loss of golfballs.
It is not a links course but very demanding for a reasonable price. A must to play when in Ireland
