Newburgh-on-Ythan was founded in 1888 and was originally a nine hole course laid out on the Newburgh Links which is located along the river Ythan estuary and the coastal dunes. The course was extended in 1996 and the new nine holes, the outward half, is characterised by undulations and hills, with elevated tees and greens requiring a range of shot making. The original inward nine demands accuracy from tee to green and is the epitome of the typical Scottish links course. The course at Newburgh is noted for the quality of its greens, its playability regardless of the conditions and its magnificent setting Services of PGA Professional now available. 4 hole practise area and Conference Room also available. Newburgh-on-Ythan is very much a tale of two halves, but each one is worth listening to.
Dating back to 1888 this delightful links course was originally a nine-hole layout until as recently as 1996 when new land was acquired and a further nine were developed.
The back nine is a traditional links lovers dream. Looking out from the modern, glass-fronted clubhouse, over a sea of gorse, it would appear that the fairways are dead flat, however, nothing could be further from the truth.

Baan waar we langs kwamen en speelden om de ligging in een natuurgebied zo aantrekkelijk leek. Op zondag geen probleem om een teetime te krijgen. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Oude negen holes echte links baan, nieuwe 9 deels links deels polderbaan. Zolang je op de fairway blijft goed te doen, anders algauw de bal kwijt. Veel mooie uitzichten. Zeehonden aan de rand.

Mooie oude golfbaan in een prachtige "links" omgeving.
Veel blinde holes, maakt het golfen spannend.

Très intéressant c'est un inland avec arbres et plans d'eau on peut facilement scorer sur ce parcour. Superbe accueil du directeur et de son staff. À faire sans restriction.
