Moray Golf Club

De Old Course van Moray golf club is een rasechte schotse linksbaan volgens een ontwerp van Old Tom Morris. Heerlijke layout met diepe potbunkers, glooiende fairways en snelle greens. Op enkele holes heb je een prachtig uitzicht over de Noordzee, de boorplatformen in de regio en de heuvels van de Cromarty Firth kustlijn. Er is geen driving range. De caddymaster in de proshop was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam, ook al waren we te laat voor onze teetime. In het authentieke Schotse clubhuis hebben we een heerlijke hamburger gegeten voor amper 12€ met uitzocht op de zee. Jammer dat de gastvrouw zo nors is, dat draagt niet bij aan de sfeer.

Typische linksbaan bij de kust met behoorlijke hoogte verschillen en afwisselende holes.

Er rustig qua spelers, wat onrustig vanwege nabij gelegen luchtmachtbasis.

Routing tussen de holes soms wat lastig.

Excellent condition. Challenging. Fantastic finishing hole on the Old Course.

Loved this classic links in Lossiemouth. The course was spotty on the fairways due to last year’s hot and dry weather. Aside from that the course is now one of my favourite links courses. Many risk reward holes with a classic links design by Old Tom Morris.

Played the Old Course twice in 2015 and 2017. To my Opinion a bit of historical atmosphere at the beginning and an the last hole playing up to the beautiful old clubhouse. There is a huge contrast between the classic and enjoyable links layout from Old Tom Morris an the modern RAF Jets thundering low over the players heads to the Lossiemouth Air Base just a few hundred yards left of the fifth fairway.
