Nice looking course regarding landscape. Everything else was not up to standard. We played there on a Pro Am and the course was one big mud pool. Practically no quality grass on fairways, greens were punched and not freshly mowed, hadn't had one pure roll the whole 18 holes. Driving range was either semi rough or no grass at all. Putting green had grass so long, ball allmost could fall in the cup.

Here we go again... Still the same opinion about the golf course just the condition got even worse. The fairways are simply full of wild grass or Dallisgrass weed. And the holes in the valley below the castle... there are actually no fairways as on holes no. 12 and 13 the grass was about 5-10 cm high... NO KIDDING!
This however still stays the same:

I love Slovenia and I love golf... but this is one of the most f@#ked up (pardon my French again!) golf courses I have played and I have tons. It is most certainly not a masterpiece and if I was Donald Harradine I would definitely not put mu signature on this layout... yes, it is really that bad! However it could easily be improved to decent golf course with a few changes!
"The fifth field (Par 4) is known among golfers as one of the most demanding in this part of Europe. "
It is not demanding it is plain stupid - period! Again, you need to hit your tee shot exactly 192 meters and 34 centimetres and land it on the area in the size of a golf towel - trifold towel that is, folded! If you are 4,53 meters too long, short, left or right you are pretty much gone or you have to chip to have a shot to the green. About the same goes for the playing-wise disgusting 7th hole and I could go on and on with illogical holes and tee-shots, blind shots...
There are a few nice holes like 1st,10th and maybe 11th and 18th) there is absolutely nothing special here.
Maintenance was very bad - some fairways were close to a disaster, some geens only look nice but they are very slow just like our economy and our courts of justice.
So don't expect to enjoy too much here if you are playing here for the first time as it will be impossible to score well. If you are only playing to walk around and have a few nice views than go for it. I would even bet that no one would have much to to say about this golf course if there was no castle on site which is actually the only nice thing here... PLAY WELL!

Love that place! Nice atmosphere, harder course but after few rimes you get smarter.

Except a few nice holes (1st and 10th and maybe 11th and 18th) there is absolutely nothing really good here. Maintenance is quite poor despite for the course good weather conditions in the past weeks, fairways are okay but the roughs are way too high considering the fact the course itself is already too tough so finding a ball a few meters from fairways or greens can be quite a challenge on some holes. Greens only look nice but they are very slow and the roll is uneven. While tee-boxes... well you can even loose a ball on some of them! Do not expect to enjoy this course if you are playing here for the first time as it will be impossible to score well. If you ask me I would even bet that no one would have much to praise here if there was no castle on site... GOOD LUCK!
