Golf La Cañada was the first public golf course on the Costa of the Sol. It is located in a raised part of Guadiaro, south of Spain. The architects Dave Thomas and Robert Trent Jones designed the golf club la Cañada. The second is also the one who designed the neighbouring courses, here in Andalusia, of Valderrama and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. It is a pleasant and varied round, with excellent views. The terrain of Golf La Cañada is not flat but the slopes are gentle. The main features are the excellently maintained greens, a large number of trees, mainly made up of indigenous species, and the gully on the 18th which gives the course its name. In januari gespeeld. Met GH voor 34,00. De oefenfaciliteiten zien er schitterend uit. De baan is pittig om te lopen, maar te doen met onze elektrische trolley. Het onderhoud was zeker gezien de tijd van het jaar erg goed. Tees zagen er “nieuw” uit. Fairways waren in prima conditie; de greens waren goed en snel. Hole 10 (een par 5 omhoog) was in onderhoud, dit was ons niet gemeld. De par 71 werd met een vervangend kort par 3-tje een par 69. Dat was jammer. De uitzichten zijn schitterend. Hole 17 en 18 maken dit mooie rondje met 2 spectaculaire slotholes compleet. Zeker gezien de prijs een absolute aanrader!
La Canada is een bijzonder prettige baan.
Afwisselend en uitdagend qua ontwerp en gelegen in een mooie heuvelachtige omgeving. Regelmatig prachtige vergezichten op de omgeving waaronder de Middellandse zee. De baan is prima te lopen.
Het onderhoud is behoorlijk goed. De tee’s zijn volgens mij recentelijk nieuw ingezaaid. De greens zijn goed en snel.
De greensurroundings zien er als nieuw uit. Goed gemaaid en gras onder de bal.
De fairways zijn kort gemaaid waar je van moet houden. Ik wel in ieder geval. Prima oefenfaciliteiten en horeca. Ik kom hier zeker terug als ik in de buurt ben.
Prijs/kwaliteit is een stuk beter dan bij de buurbaan (Valderrama).

18 holesThe course can be played without difficulty and golf carts are not necessary. The greens have a lot of movement and are very well looked after. An ideal round for strategic play and you will have to use all of your clubs. Any good amateur is guaranteed a fun game.
